Letter From Girl's U-10 Coach Playing 6 v 6:
Dear Soccerhelp,
I just signed up for soccerhelp premium and am having a difficult time finding information on formations for 6 v. 6 at the U10 level. We are playing on a large 70 yard field which is a lot of distance to cover with only 5 players!
By the way, we had our first practice last night and I'm taking to heart your suggestions for teaching aggressiveness and hustling- amongst other games, we did the shoulder tackling and strength on the ball game, dribble across a square game and 3 man direct, wing attacking game. They were all well received by the girls.
You've got a great website, keep up the good work.
Any suggestions you have for 6 v. 6 on a large field would be appreciated.
Thanks,
JoeOur response to Joe and Ross is on SoccerHelp Premium. It is 6 pages and has 35 links to related topics and Premium Practice Games.
Letter From Captain of Men's 6 v 6 Team In Toronto Canada:
Hi SoccerHelp,
I am one of your Premium content subscribers and have really enjoyed the knowledge you've provided.
I am the Captain of a men's team that regularly plays in a 7v7 indoor league. For the spring/summer season we are switching to a 6v6 outdoor league. It is played sideways on one half of a regular outdoor field. 1 goalie + 5 players. At the 7v7 league we played a 2-3-1 and a 2-2-2 formation and got pretty good results. With the switch to 6v6, we are trying to figure out what formations we should try. Here are some that comes to mind:
* 1-3-1
* 2-2-1
* 1-2-2I'd really appreciate any insight and thoughts around formations for 6v6.
Thanks,
